M&Ms Annual Halloween Costume Fitting
Using an assembly line to manage foot traffic
The Company
Being the flagship product of the Mars Wrigley Confectionery division of Mars, Incorporated for the past 50 years, M&Ms has become a trademark in the American candy industry. The colorful “buttons” of the world, these candy-coated pieces of chocolate have made a name for themselves in over 23 countries.
Challenge
Each year, M&Ms hosts a costume giveaway to children and their families for Halloween. Although the event has been successful each year with hundreds of families coming each October, the company has had a hard time managing the overall process of getting the children through the line quickly and efficiently while still keeping smiles on their faces. As the years progressed, more and more families attend which has caused even more foot traffic during the event.
Talent
- Balloon Artists
- Face Painters
- Event Staff
Solution
Using an assembly line approach, Clown N’Around developed a system for both managing the large foot traffic and positively distracting the children who were not being serviced by the event coordinators. Using interactive face painters and balloon artists, we successfully managed the flow of persons entering the space and also kept the children entertained until it was time for them to receive their costumes.
